Philly Shaved-Beef Bulgogi
An easy bulgogi you can make in Philadelphia. Buy very thinly sliced shaved beef and you'll get tender, melt-in-your-mouth bulgogi with almost no effort! (1 tbsp = 15 ml, 1 tsp = 5 ml)

- Shaved beef (thinly sliced)450g

- Carrot (baby carrots)15–18
Marinade
- Sugar4 tbsp
- Mirin (cooking wine)2 tbsp
- Soy sauce4 tbsp
- Black pepper1 tsp
- Sesame oil1 tbsp
- Minced garlic1 tbsp

Prepare all the ingredients.

In a large bowl, add the shaved beef with 4 tbsp sugar and 2 tbsp mirin, gently massage to coat, then marinate in the fridge for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

While the beef marinates, make the sauce and cut the vegetables. Marinade: 4 tbsp soy sauce + 1 tsp black pepper + 1 tbsp sesame oil + 1 tbsp minced garlic.

Pour the marinade over the beef, toss to combine, and marinate 1–3 more hours in the fridge (to taste).

Start frying the marinated beef in a pan.

When the beef is about two-thirds cooked, add the onion and carrots and stir-fry together.

Done! Serve with pickles and enjoy.
Tips
If you like it sweeter, add a little more sugar. (1 tbsp = 15 ml, 1 tsp = 5 ml)
