Ham and Tofu Jeon (Pan Fritters)
An ultra-simple side dish of mashed Spam and tofu pan-fried into little fritters. Quick to make and perfect for a lunchbox or alongside rice.

- Spam (canned ham)200g
- Tofu1/2 block
- Minced onion30g
- Minced carrot30g
- Egg1
- Starch2 tbsp
- Salta pinch
Directions

Finely mince the onion and carrot.

Briefly soak the Spam in hot water to remove excess grease, then mash it.

Squeeze out the water from the tofu and mash it.

In a bowl, combine the mashed Spam and tofu, minced onion and carrot, egg, starch, and salt, and mix well.

Pinch off portions of the mixture and shape them into round, flat patties.

Heat a little oil in a pan and fry both sides until golden brown.
Tips
Spam is already salty, so add only a tiny bit of salt. The starch binds the mixture so the patties hold together while frying.
