Southern-Style Gumbo
Gumbo is a signature stew from Louisiana in the American South. Chicken, bacon and vegetables simmer in tomato sauce, with curry powder for extra depth — a spicy one-bowl dish that also suits Korean tastes. It's simple enough for anyone to enjoy.

Ingredients
Meat
- Chicken breast1 fillet
- Bacon2 strips
- Beefa little (optional)
Vegetables
- Bell pepper3 small
- Onion1
- Carrot1/4 (optional)
- Potato1 (optional)
- Garlic3 cloves
Sauce & Seasoning
- Tomato sauce1 jar
- Salt1 tsp
- Black pepper1 tsp
- Curry powder1 tbsp
- Hot sauce1 tsp
Directions
- 1

Prepare the ingredients. Here we use chicken breast, bacon, and a little beef.
- 2

Cut everything into bite-sized pieces. Slow-cooking ingredients like potato and carrot should not be cut too large, so they cook through in time.
- 3

Thaw the chicken breast and cut it into bite-sized pieces.
- 4

Heat oil in a pan, then add the garlic and bacon to build aroma.
- 5

Add the chicken breast and stir-fry.
- 6

Add the beef and stir-fry quickly over high heat. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
- 7

Add the potato and carrot to the pan with the meat and stir-fry.
- 8

Add the remaining ingredients except the bell pepper and stir-fry. Pour in a little vegetable stock, water, or white wine and let it simmer down.
- 9

Once the onion turns translucent, add all the bell pepper and stir-fry.
- 10

Stir-fry a little more, then add the tomato sauce and a tablespoon of curry powder.
- 11

Add about a teaspoon of hot sauce for a spicy kick.
- 12

Mix everything well and it's done.
Tips
Since it's much like a stew, cut the meat and vegetables large if you have time; if you're short on time, cut them small. Adjust the heat level with the hot sauce.
