Guacamole (Avocado Dip)
Guacamole, Mexico's classic dip, made from ripe avocado. Just mash the avocado, mix in minced onion, cherry tomatoes, and lemon juice, and season with salt and pepper. Scoop it up with nachos, or serve it with baguette or in a sandwich. A super-easy, no-cook recipe ready in 5 minutes.

Directions

Finely mince the onion and cherry tomatoes, and get a ripe avocado ready.

Cut the avocado all the way around the pit, then scoop out the flesh cleanly with a spoon.

Mash the avocado flesh with a spoon — avocado is often called 'butter of the forest.'

Add the minced onion, tomatoes, and 3 tbsp of lemon juice to the mashed avocado. Add some minced garlic too, if you like.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Mix everything together well and your Mexican guacamole is done.

Serve with tortilla chips and enjoy.
Tips
Avocado is at its best when the skin has darkened and it yields slightly to a gentle squeeze. A generous squeeze of lemon (or lime) juice slows browning and adds brightness.
