Dakjuk (Korean Chicken Rice Porridge)
Dakjuk is a comforting rice porridge simmered in a broth made by boiling chicken breast with whole garlic. Cooked rice is simmered until soft, then finished with carrot, chives, green onion, and a drizzle of sesame oil — perfect when you have a cold or want a gentle, easy meal.

Put the chicken breast in a bowl and sprinkle with cooking wine to season it and remove any gamey smell.

In a pot, add the chicken breast, garlic cloves, and water, and boil. When the chicken is cooked, remove it and shred it finely along the grain.

Add the rice and chopped carrot to the chicken broth and simmer until the rice grains soften and spread.

Add the shredded chicken, bring to a boil once, then add the chives and green onion and season with salt and pepper. Serve in a bowl drizzled with sesame oil and sesame seeds.
