Croffle (Croissant Waffle)
An easy croffle made from frozen croissant dough. Crisp on the outside and chewy inside, it pairs perfectly with toppings like ice cream, maple syrup, and roasted soybean powder.

Cover the thawed frozen croissant dough with plastic wrap and let it proof at room temperature for about 1 hour 30 minutes. It is ready once it has doubled in size.

Coat both sides of the proofed croissant dough evenly with sugar.

Brush the waffle pan evenly with butter or oil, preheat it over high heat for 2 minutes on each side, then place the sugar-coated dough on it.

Close the waffle pan and cook over medium-low heat for about 2 minutes per side, 4 minutes total, watching the color.

The croffle has puffed up soft and beautifully.

It is baked to a lovely golden brown.

Tips
When thawing the frozen dough in a microwave, run the defrost cycle twice, or run it twice and add another 30 seconds. Microwaves vary, so check as you go and take the dough out once it turns soft.
